Alex Berka

Alex Berka (born Timothy Alexander Berka) is an actor, screenwriter, model, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and composer from Saginaw, Michigan. He initially got into acting as a junior in high school, participating in theatre, TV/Film classes, and the local 72-hour film challenge. He briefly considered collegiate film production programs, but instead went to the University of Michigan to pursue roller coaster design. He graduated in 2018 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and minors in Music and Business. During this time, he also spent three summers working nights as a ride mechanic at the Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio. After graduation, Alex relocated to Nashville, Tennessee to start a music career, having written and played music since elementary school. In 2019, he began work on his arena rock recording project, Showpiece, with local Nashville musicians. He also composes for classical settings, including string quartets and quintets, operatic art songs, and piano duets. It was only after linking up with a modeling agency in 2020 that he positioned himself to return to acting, joining an acting studio and participating in projects across Tennessee and Kentucky. In 2021, he wrote An Honest Effort, which was chosen along with eight other scripts to be produced as a part of his acting studio's annual short film challenge.
