Debashis Das

Debashis Das is a filmmaker, Scriptwriter, Editor, Cinematographer who was born on July 1, 1991, in Gazipur, Bangladesh. He started practicing drama, recitation, debate, and music from his early age. Then he started trying to make short films from the time he was studying at Bangladesh Agricultural University. He has been awarded for his first short film 'Known' as 'Zahir Raihan Best Short' by the renowned filmmaker in Bangladesh Tareq Masud (late). He started the two-year 'Filmmaking' course at the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute (BCTI). During the course, he made a few short films and they earned some honors both inside and outside the country. His interest is deeply rooted into exploring the film as a medium of narrative, non-narrative, imagery, sound and visuals that can transcend the world of the audience with the experiences yet to be discovered and communicated. Right now he is making a short film 'Mukuler Jadur Ghora' which has got a Government grant.
