Mary Rand Hess

Mary Rand Hess is a poet, playwright, series writer, screenwriter and New York Times bestselling author of notable and award-winning books, including Solo (CABA Honor Book and NAACP Image Award Nominee) and Swing. Mary wrote five episodes for the digital show, WordPlay with Kwame Alexander (Adventure Academy), is the co-playwright for the musical, Acoustic Rooster's Barnyard Boogie: Starring Indigo Blume, and is adapting two of her books for the screen, among other exciting projects.
