Classically trained, Irish-Londoner Luke Coughlan has toured around the world and starred in roles on national and international television. Luke first came to our attention with his debut television role in 2021 as the peach prince and intergalactic pop-star Johnarchy in CBBC and RTE's Nova Jones where he is a recurring role across seasons. Luke also worked on Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks' third installment of the award winning Band of Brother's mini-series Masters of the Air which will be airing in 2023. When he isn't on our screens, Luke performs all over the country and travels around the world bringing the timeless music of Frankie Valli to audiences in the internationally acclaimed show direct from the west end Big Girls Don't Cry. Luke trained at East 15 Acting School and Drama Studio London (graduated 2019) where he also discovered his love for Sound Design and Musical Direction. Luke comes from a family of musicians and as a result has been playing traditional Irish music all across the country from a very early age and he's played alongside Irish music legends at The Royal Albert Hall. Whilst in Sixth form at the London Oratory school, Luke was classically trained as a chorister where he completed his exams with ABRSM and sung in esteemed venues such as St John Square. Whilst in the chamber choir Luke sung incredible works - most notably Faure's Requiem, Handel's Messiah and Vivaldi's Gloria. With series 2 of Nova Jones hitting our screens and the show going global, Luke appeared as a guest for the BBC on Saturday morning TV's Saturday Mash Up. Luke has also appeared alongside Kimberly Wyatt and Aston Marigold in CBBC's Almost Never where he guest starred for the season finale. Luke also stars in Sony and Amazon's audio drama Hully Boo's Spook N' Spell where he multi roles in this fun filled series. Luke is a multi-instrumentalist, starting out in sessions and rock bands as a child, he has grown to be an accomplished electric guitarist, drummer and produces his own music. When playing folk music, Luke switches between banjo and mandolin with heavy drive coming from his acoustic guitar playing. Luke runs workshops and teaches young teenagers how to beat-box as part of their hip-hop modules, this is a way to make music more accessible to children who wouldn't initially be interested with the curriculum or standardised instruments.
