Rafael Francis

Dean 'Rafael Francis' Paniagua is a screenwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. His current feature films and series appeal to a wide demographic, and include genres such as; Psychological Thrillers, Teenage Drama and Romance, Coming of Age and Mafia Crime-Drama. He employs an artistic taste with experimental style and non-linear storytelling, preferring dark, bitter-sweet conclusions to heavily impact his intended audience. From a young age, Dean grew up watching all kinds of film and television, gaining a sense of creativity and storytelling, longing to be a part of the silver screen. In his formative years, he produced feature films and shorts for assessments and self-fulfilment, spending most of his spare time editing and refining his projects, regardless of praise or points, but for his passion for cinema. This included developing a brand new skill-set of production and sound software, able to edit and record productions in high quality. Dean later attended Victoria University Polytechnic for a course in Sound Production, learning an abundance of media skills and developing a taste for sound in cinema. Graduating just one year on, he decided to begin screenwriting, ready for the stories to pour out on to paper.
