Hasan Atilla Ugur

He graduated from Kuleli Military High School, which he entered in 1972, in 1975. In the same year, he entered the Military Academy. He graduated in 1979 with the rank of Gendarme Lieutenant. After graduating from Infantry and Gendarmerie schools, he received commando training in Foça. Since 1981, he served as the Gendarmerie Unit Commander in many regions, especially in the Eastern and Southern Anatolia Regions. He was the commander of the unit that neutralized the terrorists who landed in Antalya in 1998. He interrogated Abdullah Öcalan, who was caught in Kenya and brought to Turkey in 1999, on Imrali Island. He took important roles in the operations against Hezbollah in 2000-2001. Between 2002-2004, he served as the Head of the Gendarmerie Technical Intelligence Department. While he was the head of the Technical Intelligence Department, he prepared a comprehensive report on FETO and presented it to the higher authorities. He served as Kocaeli Provincial Gendarmerie Command between 2004-2005. He served as Çanakkale Training Regiment Command between 2005-2007. He retired voluntarily in 2007 when he was at the rank of Colonel.
