Brad Sprauer was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1971. Brad began his music career at 19 as the drummer in the Indianapolis band "The Needles." He began songwriting and learning guitar about this time, composing his first songs around this time, some of which would re-appear in later bands. In the early 90's, he stumbled into a job singing for a grunge/rock cover band called "Trigger Happy" where he got a taste of bringing theatrics into the act. His path strayed from drums as he put together a band to showcase his growing songwriting and newly found ability to front a band. A chance meeting with a bagpiper in early 2000 began his longest musical stint, a Celtic rock band called, "Mother Grove" where Brad sang and played guitar. Mother Grove released 7 mostly original albums, the majority of songs penned by Brad. As Mother Grove came to a natural end, he went back to his roots and started a bagpipe and drum band with Mother Grove bagpiper and multi-instrumentalist, John Holland called, "Pictus" performing at Renaissance Festivals all over the U.S. Pictus is where he really became enthralled with blending acting and music, creating the character, "Oengus MacOg - The Storytelling Bard of Pictus." Pictus have released 5 albums and tour all over the U.S. His character Oengus, has released an album of his storytelling called, "Storytime with Oengus." In 2022 he teamed up with Renaissance act, "Luku The Mad Skald" (Ross Epstein) to form the musical comedy duo, "Rowdy Soul." Brad created the character, "Colonel Angus, The Most Cunning Linguist on the 7 Seas & Pirate King of Scotland." Brad plays drums, percussion, harmonica and vocals as well as contributing to skit/script writing. Brad has been married 4 times, has one 25 year old son from his first marriage and resides in Michigan, USA.
