My name is Graham S Young. From a young age, I have always been a passionate storyteller. I would spend most of my free time trying to write, but I was never any good at it. I loved storytelling but had a hard time writing down my ideas in useful ways. I would hand write my stories, and then never get them onto a digital format. This led to the ideas eventually dying. I had really hoped that I would be a writer, but as I grew older, that dream began to fade. My difficult time with typing made this a seem impossible. I thought that I might never get to be a storyteller. That was, before I knew about a career in filmmaking, and this changed my life... The dream of writing eventually changed. The passion for telling stories stayed the same, but it evolved to include more than just words on a page. Stories with meaning and vision. Visual and auditory. Rhythm and cadence. I am not sure what started this spark, perhaps it was watching movies with my family, watching behind the scenes videos with my dad, or just a continuation of my dream to tell stories. One thing I knew though, I was not equipped to learn this on my own. I had no experience and no way to gain any. Until... I was introduced to the world of filmmaking shortly after my 17th birthday. I had graduated early after being home schooled my whole life and was looking to go to a college. I had already been working full time at a fast-food job for 6 months, so I knew I could afford it. One day, my mother and I visited a small university in Peoria, Arizona, called Huntington University. The day we were visiting, they were having their student showcase at a Harkins Theater, and we were invited to attend. Suddenly this dream of mine became a reality, and by spring of 2019, I was in my first classes. I entered film school at a disadvantage compared to everyone else. Everyone I knew had some sort of experience. They owned a camera, they started in high school, etc. I was none of these things. I started with nothing. I got to handle a camera for the first time that semester. Shortly after the semester ended, I was able to help out on an "IFB: Beat the Clock" challenge. I got to be a boom operator and assistant editor on Chris Blackford's film 'Steve.' This was my first on set experience, and I loved it! It was not long after this that I got to direct my first student project 'Brothers.' My life changed drastically after this. Working a normal job no longer satisfied me. I had found my purpose - To make movies and films. I did everything I could from that point on to be on as many film productions as I could and work in every position available. I learned what I was good at and I learned what I love. My passion for filmmaking and desire to learn landed me on many film sets and set me up as one of the first people to be called on. I quickly set myself up as a very capable PA, Grip, Sound Designer/Mixer, Camera Operator and Assistant Camera work, and Editor. But my passion remained in Directing and Producing. As William Shakespeare said, "a jack of all trades is a master of none but is oftentimes better than a master of one." And it was this that landed me on so many films. I was able to learn my strengths and weakness better, and while I knew certain parts of each role, I was never confined by tunnel vision. Students and faculty alike knew that they could call on me, and I would be there. I have now worked on over fifty student films, commercials, and outside of school projects. While in school, I founded my future production company, Bronze Wall Media. My more recent works include "Jonah: The True Story"(Winner of Best Comedy at Valor Community Film Festival), "Loose Strings"(Made in Association with 52 Productions for IFB's 2022 Beat the Clock Challenge. Winner of Best Sound Design and Best Lead Actor for Michael Bundy II). These two are still in their festival run. I am now currently in pre-production on a few short films: "A Forest Dark"(Directed by Casey Davis, and Produced by myself), set for principal photography in September 2022, and "Work Life" (Written by Emily Young and to be directed by myself), which is slated for production in the winter of 2022, if plans allow. I am also working on a few other undisclosed projects that I am not ready to announce at this time. My name is Graham S Young, I am a Filmmaker. "No One Changes The World By Accident. Practice Makes Perfect. Fake It Till You Make It. Take It One Day At A Time. Steal Like An Artist. And Never, Ever, Give Up On Your Calling" August 2022 Graham Young, presently located in Peoria, Arizona, is a senior at Huntington University and is currently working at the University in a part-time position; and is looking to acquire a second job.
