Cole Aansen is an American actress and linguist. Born and raised in northeast Ohio, Aansen attended Montessori education for 15 years, including three years at a residential school on a farm. She developed a love of foreign language in school and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Linguistics from Northeastern University in Boston. She went on earn a Masters of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Kent, Paris, and a Masters of Education in Children's Literature and Literacies from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to acting, Aansen taught people with dyslexia how to read and write with confidence as a certified Orton-Gillingham literacy intervention specialist. Cole Aansen is known for roles that espouse an essence of confidence, mystique, and intellect. She plays a mysterious, determined, Special Operations Executive in the WWII drama, The ResistanceThe Resistance (????), working opposite James MadioJames Madio (I)"Band of Brothers" (2001). , 2001), a bilingual tech specialist in a sci-fi drama, Yorktown - A Project Runabout Film (2022)Yorktown - A Project Runabout Film (2022), and a renegade resistance fighter in the dystopian drama, AIR (2022), among other opinionated and principled roles. A trained linguist, Aansen is a polyglot, specializing in Russian, Spanish, and Portuguese, as well as a variety of accents and dialects of English. She has formally studied six foreign languages and maintains three. With Spanish as her first love, Portuguese came easily to her while studying translation in São Paulo, Brazil. She later trained in Portuguese medical interpreting. Upon graduation from Northeastern, Aansen spent the summer in Tbilisi, Georgia, before moving to Moscow to teach ESL curriculum at a Russian school. She still studies Russian and can recite Pushkin as party trick, but only if prompted. An avid traveler, Aansen has lived in seven countries and traveled to over thirty.
