Nolan Nelson is a Los Angeles based actor with over two years of collegiate level acting, in addition to another two years of professional level acting on both stage and screen. Born and raised in the small town of Gering, Nebraska, Nolan would move to Los Angeles in July 2018, and found himself on the West Coast being awarded a Talent-based scholarship, acting under the instruction of industry professionals, being cast in multiple short films, standing on many stages, and graduating top of his class with Summa Cum Laude honors, and that's only the beginning. Nolan Nelson moved to Chicago after he completed his Senior year of high school in Nebraska in hopes of starting a music career. However, he would soon discover another underlying passion that would lead him to even more success: Acting. Being a part of a singing and dance group, Harmony, watching plays in high school, auditioning for roles in Chicago, and then being selected for background work in Atlanta for The Darkest Minds, curiosity was no longer just a spark, but an engulfing flame. Nolan began practicing characters and scenes in his room, documenting them, and studying the techniques from other trained professionals to further enhance his own abilities. He then would be presented with the idea of attending an acting school. Applying for, and being accepted into, Columbia College Hollywood, it was in his first acting class where he would meet his teacher, Kadina de Elejalde. She showed great interest into his aptitude, and advised him to audition for a more acting focused program at the New York Film Academy - Los Angeles. He applied, and was awarded with not only an acceptance letter, but a Talent-based scholarship as well. He would then go on to be taught under the instruction of Ayelet Zurer, Miraj Grbic, Suzanne Kent, Michael Bershad, Maria Gobetti, Cathy Gianonne, Miguel Cruz Carretero, Carol Stanzione, and many more. After acting in over twenty short films, three theatre scenes, two new media projects, and two years of intensive acting training, Nolan would graduate with Summa Cum Laude Honors from the New York Film Academy-LA in February 2020. He would then go on to audition for, and be accepted into, the NYFA-LA Alumni Showcase, headed by Anne Moore, and the Improv B-Troupe, headed by Suzanne Kent. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, he would be unable to pursue either of them any further. In late 2021, he would take a course at the Howard Fine's Acting Studio headed by Howard Fine himself, as well as David Coury. There, he would make a friendship with a fellow student, Cameron Stout, and create a short film together. In between classes, and projects, he has recently been taking additional training courses to further expand his special skill range for specific roles.
