Cody Greenwood is the founder of Rush Films. Having created award winning documentary and short films that have garnered international acclaim at festivals, Cody's latest feature documentary 'Under the Volcano' premiered at SXSW and is being distributed globally by Universal Pictures. Directed by Gracie Otto, the film tells the story of the legendary Beatles producer Sir George Martin and AIR Studios, the recording studio he built in the Caribbean in the 1980's. It became a sanctuary for some of the world's biggest recording artists; where the likes of Elton John, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Dire Straits, and the Rolling Stones created some of their most iconic music within the studio's four walls. Cody has spent the last decade working alongside some of Australia's most prominent diverse storytellers to create authentic and thought-provoking content. As an advocate for fostering diversity from every corner of the industry, Cody believes the arts is a critical pathway to driving social change. Her recent short film, Sparkles, is a coming-of-age story and a celebration of disability on screen. The film premiered at Flickerfest earlier this year, and was written by, co-produced and stars Tina Fielding who has the living disability Down syndrome. Cody is also currently in post-production for the highly anticipated 6-part series 'Girl Like You', in partnership with Screenwest and Screen Australia. Filmed across 4 years, the documentary follows the raw and intimate journey of a young woman as she watches her partner transition from male to female. Most recently, Cody is in development on feature film 'Fads and Miracles' with director Zoe Pepper. The script was shortlisted as 1 of 3 projects for Screenwest's highly-acclaimed West Coast Visions production grant, one of the most coveted production funding grants in Australia. The project has also been selected as 1 of 13 international teams to take part in the 'Attagurl' film lab, designed to support the trajectory of female driven narrative features. Cody began her career in London, before moving to LA to join production company The Masses, which was founded by the late Heath Ledger. At The Masses, she production managed music videos, short film content for the Museum of Contemporary Art and developed TV projects for leading US Networks including MTV.
