Heather Jade Parks was born in Franklin, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville, in 1987. At the age of seven she knew she wanted to be an actress, and began studying acting at summer camps thanks to support from her grandmother. She attended Hillsboro Elem and Middle when the school began a program called Kids on Stage, focusing on the arts. Kids on Stage allowed her to completely realize and express her passion for acting and writing. After attending college for a year in Tennesse she moved to Saint Augustine, Florida to attend Flagler College. At Flagler she majored in Media Production where she was able to focus on nurturing her passion for production and writing. In 2009 she interned at the Cannes Film Festival with The American Pavilion in southern France. Through The American Pavilion program she returned the following year to intern for the popular television show, Access Hollywood. That same year her short film, 'Glimpse' was accepted into the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at Cannes.
