Carmen was born and raised in West Texas. Her parents owned a burrito and pizza factory that distributed burritos throughout the State of Texas. From age 4, Carmen was involved with entertainment through dance recitals, school plays and assemblies to town pageants. She won first runner up at age 4 in her first talent/beauty competition; at age 8 was attending and winning dance competitions. Through her school, she was involved in literary competitions of poetry and prose readings where she would place highly due to her dramatic interpretation of each character she read for. Along with being a cheerleader during her school years, Carmen studied Theater under Karen Schneider, a West Texas native known for her own work in the Theater, all through grade school and High School. Carmen received her first theatrical awards through One Act play programs for Best Supporting Actress and Honorable Mentions at State and Regional levels. It was clear to her peers where her path lie. Her personality was huge as was her ambition to work in Hollywood.
