Born on 4-9-1917 in Wädenswill in German-speaking Switzerland, Heddy Wettstein was a theater actress long confined to naive sentimental roles. Member of the Stadttheater München-Gladbach in 1942-1943, she then found work at the Bärentatze cabaret, before performing in West Germany. From 1964 on, she directed the Zurich monodrama theater "Zimmertheater HMW", of which she as usually the only performer (plays by Diggelmann, Muschg, Vogt) and which she presented on tour in the GDR, Israel (1973), Great Britain (1982) etc. (translated from Hervé Dumont's "Histoire du Cinéma suisse 1896-1965", 1987)
