Dirk Schneider was born 1968 and studied journalism in Leipzig while working as an author. He published some non-fiction books before going into advertising. He was creative director and owner of an advertising agency for about ten years. In 2005 he entered the film business as author and director for mostly documentaries but also feature films reports and image films for various broadcasters. He specializes in the history of the GDR and German history after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
