Joy Young

Joy is an experimentalist of cinematic art and entrepreneurship. She tells stories through new methods to send messages with a social impact, often through a surrealist style in a linear narrative and innovative technological applications. As she worked for many notable filmmakers and productions, she also independently created socially/visually provocative film and art projects that were screened and awarded in international art and film venues. Joy holds a BFA at NYU Tisch School of the Arts focusing on narrative film directing and writing and an MFA in the same field at USC School of Cinematic Arts where she explored surrealism. She has bridged entrepreneurship and tech with art and cinema since her MBA at University of Cambridge on the year's only Culture , Arts and Media scholarship. Joy was born in Hangzhou, China before she moved to Singapore on its Ministry of Education's prestigious SM1 scholarship focusing on science/maths. She was selected as a screenwriter/director in Berlinale Talents at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, and her first feature screenplay Magnet Rose in development was a finalist to the Sundance Screenwriters' Lab 2018.
