Emma took a less traveled road in to acting, starting out as a professional athlete. She was a part of the junior England swimming team for many years, before quitting at age 16 claiming it wasn't where her heart lay. Emma finished college and took a year out to travel, on her return she decided to use her athletic experience to go to university and study Sport & Exercise Science, specialising in Psychology. It was during these University years that Emma realised her love for acting, although she has since claimed that in retrospect it was obvious where her passion lay all along. After finishing her degree, Emma fell sick for a couple of years. In 2012 she recovered and was finally able to throw herself in to her acting career, and she jumped right in at the deep end! After finishing an intensive course and showcasing her talent in London's West End during the summer of 2012, she went on to secure lead parts in five short films and three feature films in less than three months.
