Gorgeous, shapely, charming, and talented dancer Bonita Purdue, is one of many unsung female dancers of the 1940s, who hasn't received their due. Bonita had a short dancing career, but within her few years of dancing she had quite a few achievements and received much notoriety on her career and beauty. Bonita appeared in a dozen of soundies (music videos of the 1940's) where she displayed her dancing talents and beauty. She was a dancer in Bill Bojangles Robinson musical revue "Born Happy," and she also danced on Broadway in the musical "Dream With Music." She left show business as fast as she entered show business, probably because of lack of opportunities for female dancers in African American show business.
