Agin Muhammad

Agin considers the theatre and filmmaking a natural progression that will help him complete his life's work. Over the last ten years, Agin has worked as a counselor, helping hundreds of men and women find alternatives and cope with life's difficult and challenging situations. He has conducted individual and group counseling sessions for couples, families, adolescents and former drug addicts. As a counselor, Agin has encouraged and motivated men and women being released from prison as they seek employment, find housing, abstain from alcohol and drugs, and reunite with their families. People always say life is more dramatic than theatre and movies. Agin believes theatre and movies are a way to reach a larger, more diverse audience. These have allowed him to integrate topics from years of counseling. Educating through entertainment: this is the motivating concept that drives Agin to write and direct his productions. As of 2008, Agin is employed as a Juvenile Probation Officer for Cook County, Illinois. He completed graduate programs at Chicago State University and received a M.S. in Criminal Justice and a M.A. in Psychology. Agin also attended and completed acting and writing courses at ETA Creative Arts Foundation in Chicago.
