Michael was born in Rome, Italy to Sicilian parents. He moved with his family to Brooklyn, New York in 1969. A year later, he learned to play the drums and at age 11, he won a drumming competition at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. He found his love for acting after being cast as the Scarecrow in a school production of the Wizard of Oz. In 1980, Michael attended Kingsborough Community College as a drama major. A year later, he sought to expand his studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. He continued his studies there with David Gideon, expanding his actor and director training for stage and film. Michael currently splits his time performing as a musician, acting, directing productions and managing an acclaimed singer, performing artist, Allé. He has directed and acted in numerous Indie Films, Off-Off Broadway and Off-Broadway plays. In addition, his credits include Director of award winning Indie features and a well-recognized documentary, Sh-Boom: Quest for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. "Sh-Boom", the screenplay is under consideration for a feature film.
