Richard Comely was born in Oxford, England in 1950 and relocated to Canada as a child in 1953. He has resided in Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta. Married since 1975 to Evelyn, Richard is the father of eight children. Comely has worked as a commercial artist, writer and creator since his teens. He began publishing his Captain Canuck comic book series in early 1975. He has also written and illustrated children's books, magazine articles, syndicated newspaper features, greeting cards, storyboards for commercials, copy and illustration for print and TV advertising, promotional videos and for television. Star Rider And The Peace Machine, Steel Chameleon, Alien Angel, Trumpet, Wabbits and BrainQuest are some of his other creations. He designed the ComelyCrane; a portable, extendable jib arm. Richard, Evelyn and their 8 children (when they were still youngsters) worked as background performers in a number of films and Television series. Comely continues to write and illustrate. Most recently he has worked with Chapterhouse Publishing who have licensed the rights to Captain Canuck. Captain Canuck is being developed for animation and live action television. Richard and Evelyn Comely's company Star Rider Productions Inc. operates the Tri-City Super Con - an annual event in Kitchener-Waterloo Ontario www.tricitysupercon.com www.starriderinc.com
