Zayn Alexander is a New York-based film director and actor of Lebanese origin. He attended college at the American University of Beirut. Though initially, Alexander hoped to earn a degree in Fine Arts to pursue a career in Theatre and Film, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After graduating college, Alexander moved to New York City to pursue his initial passion of performing making his film debut in the 2012 drama "The Defector". Alexander has also performed on stage starring in several productions including Between The Seas' production of "Could You Please Look Into The Camera?" In 2017, Alexander starred in and directed the acclaimed short drama "Abroad". "Abroad", Alexander's directorial debut, made its world premiere at the 2018 Santa Barbara International Film Festival in the Live Action Shorts Competition. In October of 2018, Alexander produced, directed, and starred in the film "Manara". "Manara" made its world premiere during the 76th Venice Film Festival in the Giornate degli Autori section and has collected over seven jury awards since its debut. In addition to his film career, Alexander has a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Columbia University and a Master of Science degree in Communications from New York University.
