Lou Rera

Lou Rera writes horror, supernatural crime, and subjects that delve into the darker side of humanity. He is the author of AWAKE: Tales of Terror, (2020) a collection of 13 chilling short stories, including an homage to Edgar Allan Poe. His novel, SIGN, (2014) a supernatural thriller of deception and murder. Lou is a retired Associate Professor of Communication at SUNY Buffalo State. He is a working professional designer, media producer, writer, and musician. Lou worked as a producer and line producer for the 2012 short film, Maxed Out. Lou, working with Director, Joe Blodgett wrote and produced a video book trailer and audio book for his novel, SIGN. He has worked as an Art Director for WKBW-TV (ABC), other commercial television projects, and corporate clients. He is an experienced music producer, working in studios in Western New York, NYC, and Los Angeles. He is a member of the Horror Writers Association (HWA), and HWA NY Chapter, the Short Fiction Writers Guild, and IMDB. His short stories have appeared in the anthologies, Group Hex Vol 1 and Vol 2. His collection of flash fiction: There are no doors on a cocoon, was published in 2008 His flash fiction has won awards in Art Voice Magazine. Another flash and short story work has been published in Queen City Flash and online publications in The Writer's Eye, Twisted Dreams, and The Flash Fiction Magazine. Lou writes occasional reviews for Horror Novel Reviews. Lou holds a M.A.H. in Information Design from the University at Buffalo. He lives in Hamburg, NY with his wife MaryRuth, a personal chef, and their wire-hair fox terrier, Rudy.
