Maren Montalbano was born in Petaluma, California. A daughter of two musicians, she graduated from both New England Conservatory of Music and Tufts University as a part of their joint five-year double-degree program. Ms. Montalbano can be heard on over two dozen commercial recordings, including three Grammy Award winning albums. She is a core member of Philadelphia's own new music choir The Crossing, and she has performed on stages all over the world, from Carnegie Hall to Walt Disney Concert Hall to the Finnish National Opera. Maren is also a writer and producer whose own work demonstrates her passion for amplifying women's voices: her solo album, Sea Tangle, features all women composers and performers; and her one-woman show, The Bodice Ripper Project, which premiered digitally in October 2020, explores sexuality, feminism, and the journey to self-empowerment through the lens of romance novels.
