Greg Paxton

Greg Paxton is the owner of Masque Entertainment and a writer for film, theater, fiction, and journalism. Since 1992, his work has received over 60 productions in several regions of the country. He has also extensively produced, directed, and acted in shows. Greg Paxton has won various national and regional awards, including the Play Festival Awards for South Carolina and Arizona and received grants from the National Endowment of the Arts, and state and regional arts commissions. As editor of the monthly magazine On The Arizona Set, Greg interviewed various professionals in the industry including dozens of celebrity actors. His work aired on Phoenix television (and is currently being recycled on YouTube). He studied screenwriting at UCLA. The result is over a dozen screenplays, some garnering options and rising to the top of national competitions, including The Hollywood Symposium (finalist), The Austin Film Festival (three second-round finalists), and a merit award from The American Screenwriters Association and Writers Digest, out of over ten thousand entries. Somebody Broke My Heart, a 30-minute film written and directed by Paxton, premiered in 2011 at the Rock Hill Community Performance Center, sponsored by the York County Arts Council, and was shown on Charlotte TV Channel 21. It was co-produced by Central Piedmont Community College. A 10-minute short that he collaborated on with Emmanuel Barbe and Terry Roueche is being shown during this year's Charlotte Film Festival. Greg Paxton has penned hundreds of feature articles and won two first place awards at The Philadelphia Writers Conference. A writer for Coastal Business Life, he taught creative writing classes and literary workshops at Coastal Carolina University for four years. He has a master's degree in journalism and marketing from West Virginia University and has served on boards for both theaters and mental health. He adjudicated for the S.C. Theater Festival and the S.C. Writers Workshop Conference.
