Biography

Laura González is a Uruguayan writer, director, and producer. Alumna of Berlinale Talent (Berlin International Film Festival 2014) and the FilmWorks Program - Watershed (UK, 2012). She founded La Uruguaya Films and produced the multi-awarded short films: “The Football” and “Every time I remember, I Forget”, selected in more than 100 festivals around the world. She released her debut feature “Milonga”, a sensitive portrait of a widowed woman and how she continues her life after a violent relationship, which received 7 ACCU Awards 2023 (FRIPESCI - Uruguay) nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Winner/Best First Feature, Winner/Best Actress (Paulina García), Best Supporting Actor (César Troncoso), Best Supporting Actress (Laila Reyes Silverberg).
