Sareta Cheathem

Sareta Cheathem is an African American Writer, Producer known for her work on Winnerz (2012), starring Glenn Plummer, Denyce Lawton and Christian Keyes, Birds of a Feather (2012) and Finesse (2014) both Starring Grammy Award Winning Producer Zaytoven. Born and raised in Detroit, she began her career in film in 2004, working as a Production Assistant on the urban classic, 17000 Block, a film Written and Directed by her childhood friend Curtis "Al Nuke" Franklin. Sareta graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit in 1989 and studied Journalism at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. She later studied Filmmaking at Wayne State University in Detroit. In 2017, her passion for working with the youth led her to start a Youth Film Program called the Detroit Film Kids, an organization that teaches filmmaking and filmmaking techniques to youth of all ages. She resides in Detroit, MI and is often found traveling between Detroit, Atlanta and Philadelphia to work on various film projects.
