Alan adapted his novel, a gripping spy thriller, to a screenplay that received the grand prize at the 2018 New York Screenplay Contest. His female-driven psychological thriller recently earned finalist placements in the 2022 Breaking Walls Thriller and Richmond International Film Festival screenplay contests. He also has written a biopic drama about a Mark Rothko painting and a spoof thriller about a global warming conspiracy. Most recently, he wrote a World War II memoir about a top-secret military intelligence program that trained Holocaust survivors to be U.S. Army interrogators. He lives with his wife and four children in Washington, DC.
