Kevin Harrington

Kevin was born in Jamaica, New York at a time when some of the country's greatest musicians were cutting their teeth rehearsing in neighborhood basements and playing summertime block parties throughout the borough of Queens. His passion for music grew and developed quickly. It was this passion and dedication that enabled him to realize his dream of traveling the world as an artist and a musical director. His knowledge of music across every genre imaginable is as vast as the extensive list of musicians he has worked with in a variety of capacities. Kevin has been blessed to play and or record for Grammy Award-winning guitarist producer Steve Lukather (Toto), Atlantic Grand Hustle recording artist Governor, Nona Hendryx of the legendary vocal trio LaBelle, Jazz artists Oliver Lake, Sherry Winston, the late guitarist Hiram Bullock, Onage Allen Gumbs, Special EFX, R&B artists Chico Debarge, JOE, Teddy Riley, Blue Magic, Ray Goodman and Brown, Kool and the Gang, songwriter LaLa (Whitney Houston ,Melba Moore, Glen Jones), Vernon Reid (Living Colour), Sandra St Victor(Family Stand) Norma Jean Wright (Chic), Vinny Gantt Project, Allison Williams, Spiritual Language, Force MDs, GQ, MoPhat, NappyHeadFunkArmy, Calypso artists Ras Ailey, Grinner, Calypso Rose, the late Blues artist Frankie Paris, Nate Larson, Chelsea and Camron, just to name a few. He has served as Musical Director for Freddie Jackson, EMI recording artist PLFD and others and is the Associate Musical Director for Queen Esther Marrow and the internationally acclaimed Harlem Gospel Singers. In the early stages of what would become the Karaoke phenomena, Kevin was hired to produce Karaoke CDs by the Japanese Company, Dashi Koscho for the Sony Music Group. Additionally, he has produced projects for artists with New City Entertainment, as well as Amanda K, Solo Nubian, guitarist John Willis, Cynthia Bell, and Gospel artists Zackaria Robinson, and Sheri under his own production company, The Groove Department.
