Monika Revilla is a Mexican screenwriter, who also holds German citizenship. She is the writer and executive producer of the feature film Dance of the 41 (2020). The movie depicts the true story of a clandestine homosexual society during the 19th century. She wrote on two Netflix Original series directed by Manolo Caro. The House of Flowers (2018) is a comedy about a dysfunctional family. The series broke audience records in Latin America. Someone Has to Die (2020) is a period drama set in 1950's Spain. She wrote on two historical limited series for the Mexican cultural channel Canal Once. Juana Inés (2016) is about the 17th century poet Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz and Malinche (2018) portrays the life of Hernán Cortés' Nahuatl translator as he set off to conquer Tenochtitlan.
