Jerrell Pippens is an actor, producer and writer who was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He is a former NFL football player who made the transition into sports broadcasting after his playing days were over. That platform along with his look and uniqueness led to bookings in several national commercials and print campaigns which also led to acting roles. Known for his recurring guest star role as 'Normandy Parker' on TNT's Murder In The First (2016), and his leading role as 'Nolan' in the award nominated project, 'Daddy's Day'. He stays busy behind the camera as he has produced,co-wrote, co-directed several award nominated projects under his Good Hope Productions, LLC. Viewers, producers and casting directors are always impressed with J-Pip's charm, confidence, engaging smile and charisma combined with grit, toughness, athleticism and a 6' 3" frame to match. He also works his hosting chops to compliment his dynamic skill set. Mr. Pippens has worked with respected directors such as Jesse Bochco, Eriq La Salle, Derek Cianfrance, Noam Murro and Ifeanyi Okimo. He has studied with acting coach Brian Reise with the on camera TV and Film scenes and cold reads. He's been tutored in Shakespeare characters, plays and sonnets by London native and veteran actor Paul Gregory. He has also participated in master firearms training with Simon Cruz Jr. from Double Tap Training. Jerrell is also tutored and mentored by acting coach Anthony Gilardi covering everything from improv, cold reads, script/character breakdown to scene study with characters ranging from 'Stanley Kowalski' from Tennessee William's 'Street Car Named Desire' to 'Sterling' from August Wilson's 'Two Trains Running' to name a few. Jerrell graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Communications and a minor in African American studies. He also played football and ran track while at Nebraska. While growing up in the Keystone state his little brother was an actor in Philadelphia's acclaimed Freedom Theatre with Jerrell also having stage play experience. Mr. Pippens resides in Los Angeles where he enjoys mentoring young student-athletes while helping to teach them life and business skills, financial literacy as well as exit strategies for life after sports.
