Bryan Wilson caught the attention of the gospel world in 1994 when he belted out "His Eye on the Sparrow" with the Mississippi Children's Choir at the age of twelve. The response was immediate. As Bryan reached and grabbed high notes that only Mariah Carey could tackle, he became known as the Boy Sparrow. That track pushed the Mississippi Children's Choir album, "A New Creation," to sell over 100,000 units. Bryan is now grown up and sporting a new sophisticated sound on his current radio single "Expect You Now" from his forthcoming Black Smoke Records debut CD, "...And It's Over." Over the years, Bryan has had Dove and Stellar award nominated CDs. He's appeared on TV shows such as "Bobby Jones Gospel," "The Stellar Awards," "Say Yes with Candi Staton," "The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors," "100 Huntley Street," and "Praise the Lord" on TBN. His tune, "Grace, It's So Amazing" is featured in the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) Radio 2 documentary, "Amazing Grace: How Sweet The Sound." After high school, Bryan took a break from recording and earned a B.A. in theology from Claflin University and then worked on his master's of divinity at Princeton University Theological Seminary. His latest hits are "Still, My Father" from the "Stellar Awards Hits 2007" CD and "Uncloudy Day" from the CD of the same name. In August 2007, Wilson released his first solo CD since 1999. The set, "A Second Coming," was the first CD where he wrote or co-wrote all the songs. It was also the first on his own recording label, Bryan's Songs Records. Billboard magazine's gospel critic Gordon Ely named the contemporary gospel CD one of the Top Ten CDs of 2008. Last year, Bryan's old school hit, "If You're Talking About Jesus," was featured on the Top Ten smash CD "Shoutin' Down the Aisles" that was featured in Time Life Music's commercial campaign on Black Entertainment Television (BET) and TV One. Bryan's forthcoming CD "And It's Over..." is a fusion of retro soul, beach music and sanctified soul with a clear message of faith in God. "I used to sing what producers gave me whether I liked it or not," says Bryan. "Now, I've developed my own style that I think will stand out from the gospel music we're used to hearing on the radio. We've created it in a way to express my love for God and appeal to youth and adults. I hope everyone loves it because it's unique and it's from my heart." Recently, Wilson was ordained an Apostle of the Bapolstogic Movement, an organization he founded to bring authentic Pentecostal worship to his generation. He also serves as assistant pastor at Nev'iim True Holiness Church of the Apostolic Faith in Washington, D.C.
