Katie Pavao is an American actress, singer, songwriter, director, playwright, and YouTube personality. Originally hailing from Southern California, where she studied acting from the age of 15 on, she now resides in rural Tennessee and is represented by Advantage Talent Agency (Nashville). Katie has been in 35 musical and theatrical productions, as well as appearing in Sandra Lynn's (Country Music Artist) Music Video, "Bar Hoppin'." Her first feature film, Providence (2016) will be released to AMC Theatres February 2016. Katie attended Lakeside High School in Lake Elsinore, CA, where she first discovered her love for acting was more than a dream, but something that she could realistically pursue. Under the tutelage of F. Scott Karlan, M.F.A. and many others she credits her early training to, she began to learn the ins and outs of theatre - everything she could - including stage managing, which gave her great preparation in life skills: dealing with people, handling their emotions with care, and high-pressure conflict resolution. She then pursued degrees jointly in Musical Theatre and Sociology at Vanguard University of Southern California, studying at Orange County College and Fullerton College along the way, and finally landed at California Baptist University, where she sang in the Women's Choir under Dr. Philip Miller, and completed her education, receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre Arts: Performance. It was in her final two years at California Baptist University that she began studying film and made her debut as a screen actor, in Unconditional, a short, Drama/Romance which swept the 2012-13 California Baptist University Film Festival, winning 5 awards, including "Best Picture," "Best Cinematography," "Best Writing," "Best Score," and "Best Actress." Katie began working professionally in theatre and film, after the completion of her degree in 2013, and soon found herself in the Coachella Valley, starring in show after show. Called a 'tour-de-force,' by the press, she played leading ladies in six of the Desert's most exciting shows in the 2014 season including: film-noir musical, Nite Club Confidential as Dorothy Flynn, Becoming Ava, originating the role of Carol, Anita Bryant in Anita Bryant Died For Your Sins, and the classic Broadway thriller, Wait Until Dark, as the amazing Suzy Hendrix, the beloved Inga, in The New Mel Brooks' Musical: Young Frankenstein, and Marcy Park in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
