Born and raised in Rome, Valeria is the daughter of two hard-lined leftists or "communists" (something that she's very proud of). After receiving a bachelor's in communications, she started working for Italy's largest telecommunications companies but she felt the need to rescue her humanistic studies and entered a master's program in multimedia history. The turning point of her career was a chance meeting with respected politician, Silvia Costa, for whom she would become his communications manager during the regional electoral campaign in 2005. Silvia became her mentor as she entered the world of women's studies, working as digital media expert in related groups and associations. This experience brought her to her next challenge: the national political election, where she was in charge of the Italian Democratic Party leader's communications in 2006. Working side by side with the party's writers and producers, Valeria became a broadcast television and ITV expert, collaborating with very skilled television and web professionals. This experience paid off a few years later, when in 2009, she was asked to be executive producer, writer and host of "amoRoma" for Dolce and a writer on the television series American Dream(s).
