A PGA Power of Diversity c/o of 2018 Fellow, Rashad Mubarak is an Atlanta-based Producer specializing in Film and Digital Series production of minority and socially disadvantaged narratives. Before receiving a "2016 Top 10% Writer" designation from Medium.com, Rashad started his entertainment career as a pop culture journalist working with brands such as VH1 and many popular music artists. While attending a press dinner for Tristar Pictures' "Jumping the Broom", he realized it was time to follow his true passion of filmmaking. As a fan of constant education, he's studied under Oscar nominated writer Kim Krizan (Before Sunrise) and line producer Will Greenfield (Assassination Nation, Loving). He previously partnered with the Atlanta Fire & Rescue Department for the "Narratives in Courage: Stories of LGBT Public Safety Heroes" presentation of ''Welcome Home Hero'' at the Center for Civil and Human Rights, which led to a multi-city screening partnership with Georgia Equality. His projects have been featured in/on NBC's 11 Alive, Atlanta and Company, The Georgia Voice and WABE 90.1.
