Mikkel Simons was born in the Bay Area city of Vallejo California and grew up in the city of Vacaville. From an early age Mikkel was drawn to performing. At the age of five she started singing with Vacaville's "Kids Are Music" program. At age 14 she began performing with the Solano Youth Theater, cementing forever, her love for acting and for the theater; especially musical theater. At age 16 she began vocal lessons with Anna Combs-Johnson and continues working with Anna on her vocal arrangements. After graduating from Will C. Wood High School in Vacaville, Mikkel enrolled in Solano Community College's Actor Training Program (ATP), a two year conservatory program developed by Actor/Director/Voiceover Artist George Maguire. ATP focused on acting, voice for the actor, dramaturgy, International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) , musical theatre, stage movement, stage combat, dance (beginner ballet/jazz/tap), the "business" of acting, directing, Shakespearian technique, classical/contemporary auditioning, and technical theatre. Mikkel earned a certificate of completion from the program. Mikkel also earned her Associate in Theater Arts: Performance degree from Solano Community College and then went on to graduate from San Francisco State University, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama with an emphasis in performance. After earning here BA Mikkel went on to studied for 2 and a half years with Cody Dorkin in on going acting scene study at Studio 24 in Folsom California. She also has trained and studied under Kirk Baltz, Tom Logan, Marty Pistone and Michael Navarra. Mikkel is now located in Los Angeles California.
