Steve was born, raised, and has lived in northeast Ohio all his life. He knew at the age of 13, after seeing Star Wars and learning how everything was done to make the film, that filmmaking is what he wanted to do. He met his wife, Kim, at the young age of 19 and they were married in 1985. They had 3 children; Steven II, Samantha, and Rosalee. After their children were grown and on their own Steve purchased his first video camera in 2006 and began pursuing his dream. After researching filmmaking for his entire life he honed his craft for 3 years shooting videos for commercial contests and learning how to plan, set-up, and shoot a scene. In 2009 he was contacted by Rocky Karlage of Ghost Walk Studios, LLC after seeing Steve's work to discuss Steve directing projects that the studio was developing. Steve ultimately directed, shot, and edited the first film project, after acquiring more professional equipment; "Ghost Walk: The Farm." A 45 minute short film, originally envisioned as a 4 minute microfilm, was chosen as an official selection at the 2012 Indie Gathering International Film Festival in Hudson, Ohio where it won Best Horror Short. Steve was also nominated for "Best Ohio Cinematographer" for his first effort. The film has since gone on to be an official selection in 15 more film festivals in the US, London, England, and Venice, Italy. The film has received nominations for "Best Hair and Make-up," "Best Screenplay," Best Special effects," Best Short Film," "Best Sound Design," and "Best Horror Film." The film is also in distribution. Steve has also written 2 hotrod based screenplays, outlined a sci-fi story, and is writing his first comedy feature as well as other projects. He is currently (2018) the Director of the USA Unit for Vampire2Films' production of "Maggie Shayne's Embrace the Twilight," and Ghost Walk Studios, LLC. He also founded Northcoast Studios, ltd in 2016. Steve still lives in northeast Ohio and is still married to his wife of 34 years.
