Barbara first fell in love with acting at age nine when she appeared in a local theatrical production of Fiddler on the Roof, as one of the young daughters. She studied acting through school and in college, where she met her future husband, Kurt Hierholzer. They married, had two sons and both enjoy acting in movies, sometimes together. They play husband and wife in the soon to be released "Rather to Be Chosen" (2015).
