Aja was born in Nairobi Kenya in 1995. She played various roles in the Nairobi Waldorf School's Christmas play until she got to play Mary. She performed in the school play each year at Waldorf and Hillcrest Secondary. She briefly had a band 'Aja and Africa' with Africa Simpson and played violin in the Kenya National Youth Orchestra.
