Federico Rea

Federico Rea is an Irish-Italian Director of Photography. His film career started in 2010. He received a First Class Honours degree in Cinematography and Drama Direction from IADT - National Film School in 2014. Growing up in an Italian / Irish environment, Federico found his inspiration by capturing the best qualities of both cultures and projecting them into his work. After his studies he became a camera operator on The Fear - season 3 and season 4 and has worked on Republic of Telly (rated the most watched program in Ireland). Both shows air on RTE (Raidió Teilifís Éireann), Ireland's leading television network. Aside from his work on the small screen, he is mainly passionate about cinema. Federico was Director of Photography on Bonsoir Luna, an Irish short film that has been nominated for the Festival de Cannes 2015 - Short Corner. He has also shot and directed his own short film (The Key), a documentary (Dear Friends), commercials and a number of music videos, both in Ireland and New York. He has recently worked as Cinematographer with director Kevin Godley (U2, Sting, Phil Collins) and producer Ned O'Hanlon on a video for U2's upcoming iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour.
