Margo E. Sawaya was born to an Italian-American woman and Lebanese-American man in Lansing, Michigan. She is the third of 4 children, and the only girl in a passionate family of loud talkers. So loud in fact, that she often retreated to her room to write in solitude as a child. There were born poems, drawings, and ultimately plays that danced around in her mind. At the age of 18, she won the Young Playwrights Festival through Michigan State University's theatre department. After seeing her play on stage and feeling the impact her words had on the audience, she turned to her family and informed them that she couldn't do anything with her life other than tell stories. She now resides in Los Angeles and tells stories all the time. The stories she chooses to tell often have something to do with the human condition, crime, dark humor and music. While she still retreats to her room to write in solitude often, she has become quite the loud talker herself.
