Shanik Hughes

Having shot over 50 national and international commercials as a child, Shanik Hughes was born October 13, 1987, in Mexico City, Mexico. Her father, Britt Hughes, was a helicopter pilot, who flew during the Vietnam War. Later, he returned home to Houston, TX, where he opened his own construction company and refinery. Her mother, Helen Martinez, a child psychologist, met Shanik's father while in Mexico City and now makes her living as a successful real estate investor. As a child, Shanik was discovered by agent Rebeca Bustos, who went on to represent Shanik for many years, placing her into her first television commercial for Sears before she was even 3 years old. Over the years, Shanik was sent out on countless auditions where she was able to acquire the skills necessary to land larger and more demanding roles. In 2010, Shanik made her debut in reality television where she was cast as the Villain on Univision's hit show, "Protagonistas." The following year, Shanik was featured in a number of different shows "Corazon Valiente" (2011), "Libre Para Amarte" (2012) and "Mujeres de Negro" (2015). Since then, this talented young actress has found fulfillment working on a variety of independent projects along with making appearances in Musical Theatre or as a host on several television shows such as "Hoy." These days, Shanik finds herself living happily in Los Angeles, CA where she energetically pursues her passions for acting and philanthropy, as well as writing and producing her own short films and expanding her company "Grand Signature Investments." A company with a passion for Real Estate. In 2018 Shanik cofounded the Learning video blog "Grand Signature Investments," an educational based channel teaching entrepreneurship, investing, and social responsibility available on YouTube and Vimeo. Currently, Shanik is represented by the Alvarado Rey Agency (Commercial agent), Dangerfield Talent (Theatrical) and her manager is Martha Torre.
