Omar J. Pineda is an independent filmmaker from Los Angeles, CA. He began his career as a photographer, but transitioned to filmmaking in 2010 to have an opportunity to delve deeper into the stories of the people on the other side of his camera. In his first film, Dead Meat Walking - A Zombie Walk Documentary (2014), he followed the lives of people who took time off from being alive and well to roam the streets as a horde of the undead at zombie walks in cities around the globe. Taking a turn from the undead to the life-affirming, his upcoming projects focus on the comeback stories of two successful artists who share their thoughts on their lives and careers after falling on hard times. Mr. Flute tells the story of the ups and downs of jazz and salsa flute player Art Webb's long and legendary career. In Fashion. Forward. The Eduardo Lucero Story, he explores how near-death experiences from an accident and an illness inspired Mexican-American fashion designer Eduardo Lucero to redesign his life and career.
