Jason J. Barrera

Jason Joe Barrera was born and raised in a small South Texas city called Laredo, TX. He was first drawn into the world of the theatre by his freshman college professor Dr. Gilberto Martinez. After his first production at Laredo Community College, Jason made acting and writing for the stage his life. He attended Texas State University and graduated with a BA in Theatre, after graduation he applied at the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, TX where he went on to receive his MA in Theatre. During his time at Pan Am, Jason became close to the Film and Television department helping them in countless amounts of short films. It was at that moment that his love for Film and Television grew, which has inspired him to pursue an MFA in Film and Television from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA. Jason is currently working as an extra in shows such as "Good Girls", "McGuyver" and "Star". He also teaches theatre at Georgia State University: Perimeter and Georgia Gwinnett College.
