Johan Siefken was born in 1978 in Weert, the Netherlands to Riet (Heijbers) a medical analyst, and Roland Siefken a primary school teacher. His mother is from Dutch descent. His father has Dutch, German and Indonesian (former Dutch-Indies) ancestry. During his primary school he participates in plays and playback shows. During his study primary school teacher, the children are a grateful audience. After 10 years of teaching Johan decides to pursue acting more serious. He takes classes at Le Pavegnon in Amsterdam and later with George Arrendell in Antwerp learning techniques like Meisner, Chekhov and Strasberg. This pays off landing several (small) rolls in Dutch films and series like the movie 'Mannenharten' and the youth series 'Het verborgen eiland and 'Het geheim van Eijck'.
