Vanessa Jansen

Vanessa is a content director, developer and manager with 21 years' experience in the South African film and television industry. She has worked in various production capacities and was a Commissioning Editor at the SABC working on programs like GENERATIONS and WHEN WE WERE BLACK among others. Under the auspices of the National Film and Video Foundation she worked as Script Editor on the award-winning film DORA'S PEACE. Vanessa worked as Senior Commissioning Editor of Long Running Series where she led the standardizing of SABC's Long Running contracts and the creation of SABC Content Hub's Quality Assurance System. Vanessa contributed to MNET's Mzansi Magic channel's inaugural content strategy and the creation of the format, THE ROAD TO MISS SA. She is a former Head of Drama at the SABC. She has facilitated on the NFVF SEDIBA Programs and trained with some of the best content developers in the business including Ken Dancynger, Alby James & Justin Scroogie (The Script Doctor). She is a GIBS graduate, a qualified Project Manager as well as an award-winning presenter (ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE), actress and pitcher (ROMA FICTION-FEST).
