Raj Kosaraju

Mrigayaa was produced in 1976 by my first cousin Dr. Rajeswara Rao Kosaraju from California. The film was directed by Mrinal Sen and actor Mithun Chakraborty made his debut with this film along with actress Mamta Shanker. The Film has shown the exploitation of the poor by the rich landlords in the early 1920's. It also shows the growing friendship between a British administrator and a native tribal who is an expert archer. It is based on a short story by Bhagbati Charan Panigrahi, called "Inaam". The film portrayed the relationship between the British colonialists and native villagers, and their exploitation by Indian landlords in 1920s India.
