He started his career as an Assistant Director with TV serial Singhasan Battisi. He is well known for directing the movie Kaun Hai Jo Sapno Mein Aaya. The movie was highly appreciated at the Cannes Film Festival, 2004. He basically belong to Dehradun. His other well known movies include Nazarr, Bazaar and Babul Payare.
