Dylan Townsend

Dylan Townsend was born in Howth, outside Dublin City in Ireland. Exposed to the entertainment industry from a young age, being the son of model Lorna Townsend & Brother of actor Stuart Townsend. His interest in the dramatic arts and visual storytelling, naturally grew from his surroundings, and as a teenager he made several exploratory short films with the advent of early digital technology while he studied Journalism and Film at college. Much of his early twenties was spent exploring the globe as a journalist, photographer and novelist, penning articles around travel and writing books from characters he met around the world. Dylan furthered his training in acting and filmmaking when he came back to Ireland, Exploring with Irish directors Terry McMahon & Graham Cantwell. Dylan then began creating his own projects, proving his merit in the Irish industry, writing, directing and performing in short films 'Ignorance Is Bliss', web series 'Slainte' and documentary 'Shadowsmiths'; which led to an invitation on RTE 2 Docu- reality series 'Exiles: Vancouver'. While on Exiles, Dylan was documented as he created, directed and performed in the comedy series 'Hipsterverse' in Vancouver. 'Hipsterverse' was sold and aired on DISH network and SONIFI during 2017. Recently Dylan has been developing projects between Dublin, Vancouver and Los Angeles, creating short film 'Heart Overheard', and acting alongside Bronagh Waugh in the charming film about the modern female journey. The short had its national debut at Galway Film Fleadh and its international premiere at Newport Beach film festival in 2018.
