Nick Maiorano is a Toronto based Producer, Director, Editor, Actor/Dancer, & founder of Nick Maiorano Productions. At the age of 6, he was introduced to competitive dancing, which led him to compete all over North America. His professional dance/acting career began in 2012, when he landed his first role on Family Channel's, The Next Step. By Season 3, Nick stepped into the other side of the camera and began auditing in the writers' room for both The Next Step and cross-over show Lost and Found Music Studios. This role led Nick to both the editors' room and post-production, where he became a full time Assistant Editor. In 2017, Nick created his first professional film The Come Down, a short film starring Canadian celebrity Victoria Baldesarra. Shortly after, Nick launched Nick Maiorano Productions and built a solid network of artists and crew members who were able to help bring his creations and production company to life. Nick and his team began producing short films, music videos, commercials, and demo reel edits. His work gained attention and allowed him to slowly build a resume that is reflective of his well-received work. One of which includes his creation of YES TV's Changemakers. During this project, he created a 10-minute short film that showcased 6 different cultures and was later broadcast on national television. The project's ratings were beyond expectations which determined the film to air multiple times. He also created a short film Butterfly which earned the young lead actress Kate Roman a Canadian Joey Award. Other recognized productions include: Escape Me, a short film based around Lifetime's hit TV Dance Moms star Lilly Ketchman, and Fire, a short dance film that was created with TV star Alexandra Chaves for CBBC's and Family Channel's hit series The Next Step's Youtube Channel. Along Nick's journey, he has had the privilege of working with some incredible artists, such as Briar Nolet (World of Dance, The Next Step), Maddie Brydges (Flat-liners, Big Top Academy), Shelby Bain (The Next Step); Canadian musicians Walk off the Earth and Andrew Austin. D.O.P./Camera Operators Brad Hruboska (Working' Moms, Private Eyes), Jay Guerriere (Oh Yuck, Unleashed), and Rob Ruscher (Imagine Dragons, Offset). Nick is currently working on several discreet projects, which will hopefully help catapult his career and company to the next level in the very near future.
